Rocketlane enables you to track and understand revenue and profitability effectively across your portfolio of projects for a given time period. These reports also facilitate accurate revenue forecasting and aid in financial planning and analysis.
> This report helps you analyze revenue for a chosen time period, such as the last quarter, and determine if you are on track with your revenue forecast for that same period.
> You can view detailed information on the revenue generated from your projects for example, if you wish to track the revenue made from fixed fee projects for a specific region, you can apply a filter to display all projects tagged to the North America region. This information will be available under the fixed fee tab in the portfolio reports.
Time Period - By default, the time period for the report will be “this quarter,” but you can click on the time period and change the duration to your preference.
Note: All values you see in the reports are based on the time period you have chosen
Filter - Lets you view data on a granular level by providing options to segment and analyse data.
The portfolio report has three views
The dashboard consists of:
No. of projects - Provides the total number of projects that overlap with the selected time period. This card also shows you how this number compares to the previous period of the same length.
Hours - For the chosen time period this card shows the total tracked time and the allocated hours across projects.
Revenue - Shows the total revenue tracked for T&M project and revenue recognised for Fixed fee projects.
Cost - Shows actual and forecasted project costs based on tracked time and allocated hours. This is across all projects.
Profit - Shows the total actual profit and forecasted profit based on the project budget for fixed fee projects and based on rate cards for T&M projects.
Profit margin - Shows the comparison between actual and forecasted margins.

Additionally for subscription projects the dashboard consists of:
Subscriptions: Indicates the number of subscription projects that were active during the selected time period.
New Subscriptions: Represents the count of subscriptions initiated within the chosen time frame.
Terminating Subscriptions: Indicates the number of subscriptions approaching the end of their tenure within the selected time period.
Profitability Breakdown
This chart shows the revenue, cost, profit and the profit margin achieved for all projects on a monthly basis.
Hours Breakdown
This chart provides you with information on the allocated and tracked hours for the project on a monthly basis.

Summary table for Fixed fee projects
This table offers detailed information on project hours, recognised revenue percentage, recognised revenue, costs, profit, and profit margin. You can compare the actual data with the forecasted data to make informed decisions at the right time.
Revenue recognition percentage:
It is the percentage of revenue you recognised for the chosen time period. It is calculated based on the revenue recognition method you use.
Forecasted revenue recognised percentage: Is the percentage of revenue forecasted to be recognised based on the allocated hours in that time period and the revenue recognition method you use.
Actual revenue recognised percentage: Is the percentage of revenue recognised based on the hours tracked in that time period and the revenue recognition method you use.
Note that in fixed fee projects, revenue is the fixed fee.

Forecasted revenue is calculated based on the rate card and allocated hours on the project.
Actual revenue is calculated based on rate card and time tracked on the project.
Summary table for Subscription projects
This table offers detailed information on subscription frequency, period budget, period hours, revenue recognised, costs, profit, and profit margin. You can compare the actual data with the forecasted data to make informed decisions at the right time.
Frequency is the subscription intervals that indicate the frequency or time period for which your service is billed or subscribed to. This can be monthly, quarterly or yearly.
Period budget represents the fixed fee of every subscription period
Period hours represents the budgeted hours of every subscription period
