Rocketlane's projects provide a singular platform to help you plan, organise and manage your team's efforts.

Projects allow you to schedule and assign tasks, keep track of your timelines, share files and communicate with team members.

Follow the steps below to get started with creating your new Rocketlane project:

  1. Click the Projects icon from the panel on the left side of the screen.

  2. In the Projects page, click New project from the top-right side.

  3. The New project dialog box pops up.

  4. Select a Customer name.

  5. Type a name for the project under Project Name.

  6. Select a status from the drop-down menu under Project status.

  7. Select a template under Choose a project template section, to build a project using an existing template.

You can also assign multiple templates using the Add another template feature. This feature is used in case you want a combination of phases from different templates based on your project requirements.

  8. Assign a Start date to the project.

  9. Assign a Due date to the project.

Pro Tip: If you are using a template while creating a new project, the Due date is auto-calculated based on your Start date and the duration of your template.

  10. The next step is to assign teammates from your end as well as the customer's end. Click Next: Teammates.

  11. By default the Project Owner is set to your name. You can assign the role of Project owner and choose team members from your team.

You can also assign the role of Champion and invite team members from the customer's team by providing their email ids.

  12. You can set the project viewing permissions for your team members under Team Visibility.

  13. The next step is to add all necessary details for your project. Click Next: Additional Information.

  14. Once you have assigned the attributes to your project, your project creation process is complete. Click Create Project.

  15. After successful creation of the project, the Project plan view is displayed.

Incase your project uses a pre-existing template, the phases and tasks of the template are reflected in the Project plan view.
