To customize or update the Customer Portal view used by your project, first identify the Customer Portal template assigned to the project. You can then edit that template from the Templates section.

Update the Customer Portal template used by a project

  1. Find the template name: Open the project and go to the Overview section. Check the Customer Portal field to identify the portal template assigned to the project.
  2. Open Customer Portal Templates: From the main navigation, go to Templates > Customer Portal Templates.
  3. Edit the template: Open the template used by your project and make the required changes to its sections, layout, columns, or shared views.
NoteUpdating a Customer Portal template automatically applies those layout and structural changes to all projects that use the same template. To change the portal layout for only one project, create or duplicate a template and assign the new template to that project from its Overview page.

Verify the changes

  1. Identify the portal template: Open the project, go to the Overview tab, and check the template listed under the Customer Portal field.
  2. Navigate to portal templates: From the left navigation, go to Templates > Customer Portal Templates.
  3. Modify and save the template: Open the template identified in Step 1, update the required sections, columns, or shared views, and save your changes.

To confirm that the updates are live, preview the portal directly from the project. Click the Eye icon near the Invite button in the top-right corner and review the updated layout.

Important behavior

  • Customer Portal templates are shared across projects.
  • Editing a template updates every project that uses that template.
  • To make project-specific changes, duplicate or create a separate template.
  • After creating the separate template, assign it to the required project from the project's Overview page.
