In Rocketlane, customer portal templates can be customized to meet your specific project needs. Below, we outline key customization steps, limitations, and important considerations to help you manage these templates effectively.
Changing the Theme of a Customer Portal Template
Rocketlane allows you to edit and customize the theme of a template without starting from scratch. Here’s how you can make changes:
Edit the Existing Theme: - Go to Templates > Customer Portal Templates, and select your Customer Portal Template. Use the "Edit" or "pen" option located on the template interface to make changes. This enables you to update colors, font styles, button styles, and other design elements.
Duplicating Templates for Independent Changes: - To avoid affecting live portals or existing projects, create a duplicate of your original template and make changes in the copy. Editing this duplicated template will not impact existing templates or data.
Note: Selecting an initial theme is final, though you can still update colors via the same editing tool.
Limitations on Template Customizations
While you can change many visual aspects of your customer portal template, keep the following limitations in mind:
Themes cannot be changed entirely after selection. You can only update aspects such as colors within the selected theme.
Changes made to the template will automatically reflect in the projects that use it. To ensure existing projects are unaffected, use a duplicate for testing new changes.
Administrative Permissions
If you find yourself unable to edit or access the settings of a customer portal, it might be due to insufficient user permissions. Only admins have the authority to update customer portal settings. If needed, request an admin to make the changes.
Data Integrity During Editing
One major advantage of Rocketlane is that editing a customer portal template does not lead to any data loss. All changes you make will automatically reflect in the updated template without erasing existing data.
