How to switch from old to new customer portal

In this article we will take you through the steps to enable the new customer portal and highlight all the points you need to remember before making the switch to the new customer portal.


To switch to new customer portal follow the below steps:


  • Login as an admin and go to Settings>Account Settings 
  • Here, you’ll find the Customer Portal Section
  • Open the Old Customer Portal tab
  • Click on Old Customer Portal where you’ll see a toggle labelled Disable Old Customer Portal
  • Click on this toggle to disable the Old Customer Portal. This will automatically enable the New Customer Portal.


Note: Disabling the old portal and enabling the new one is a permanent action. Once the new portal is activated, the old portal can no longer be used.

No, switching to the new customer portal will not automatically embed the customer portal in your website. To embed it, follow instructions listed in section named ‘Embed customer portal’.

  1. Will all my projects now have the new customer portal view for my customers?

    Yes, once you switch all your customers will be able to access the new customer portal view.

  2. I have switched to the new customer portal. Which customer portal template will my existing projects have?

    Once you switch all your existing projects will be mapped to the default customer portal template. To view the customer portal template go to templates → customer portal templates → default customer portal template

  3. I have created a new customer portal template. Can I assign it to my existing projects?

    Yes, you can switch the customer portal template of a project to any customer portal template created. To do this go to the project you want to change the customer portal template for → Go to the overview tab → Below project info find the customer portal tile → Click on ‘Change’ and choose the desired customer portal template

  4. How can I choose the customer portal template while creating a project?

    For cases where projects are created manually, the option to choose customer portal template will appear in the modal screen where project template is chosen.
    For cases where projects are created via integration, the customer portal template parameter can be added to the payload along with other project creation details.

  5. What happens if I don’t choose any customer portal template?

    If no customer portal template is chosen, the system will set the default customer portal template to the project.
